- VAT Increase Poses Problems For Websites
Wed 1st Sep at 09:59:16

Following the announcement by the Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne earlier this year to raise VAT from 17.5% up to 20% from the 4th January 2011, many online traders will be faced with the challenge of updating their website to reflect the change.

Traders using off the shelf software should be able to make the changes relatively quickly and easily using their site’s administrative facilities, however, traders with bespoke or legacy shopping carts may not be so lucky.

On a typical ecommerce site the following issues may be raised during these changes:

·         Net/Gross product pricing

·         Automatic VAT calculation in the shopping basket and at the checkout

·         Integrity of data relating to historic orders i.e. whether the value of an order placed before the change in VAT will be affected by updating the rate on the site

·         Calculated totals on order receipts/invoices

If you are concerned about whether or not your site is built to cope with the change, please get in touch with us. We will be able to put your mind at ease or else help you to implement any necessary changes. (www.freshdevs.com)

Copdat is a one of a kind online trading platform designed for all classes of people with the aim to bring excitement to the newly developing online trading especially in the developing countries.

Fresh Devs have just launched Copdat's new on-line voucher system which will allow people in countries including Nigeria, to purchase scratch card top up vouchers in cash and then use the unique code to top up there Copdat account. This system has been created because PayPal does not support Nigerian currency and it was therefore important to find a solution that allowed Copdat customers in Nigeria to use the system using their own currency without making it too difficult.

- VAT rate change problems for websites
Wed 26th Nov at 06:44:44

Following the pre-budget report from the chancellor Alistair Darling, which included a cut to the rate of VAT from 17.5% to 15% for 13 months from the 1st December 2008, many online traders will be faced with the challenege of updating their website to reflect the change.
Traders using off the shelf software should be able to make the change relatively swiftly using the site’s administrative facilities. However, traders with bespoke or legacy shopping carts may not be so lucky.

On a typical ecommerce site, the following issues may be raised by the changes:

- New Fresh Devs Site
Wed 24th Sep at 08:57:57

Today at Fresh Devs we begin the launch of our new website. We have some fantastic new content on the way and will be making various updates in the coming days and weeks.

Many of our existing clients have already agreed to feature in new video tutorials and testimonials we will be featuring soon, and we hope the early launch gives you a clearer vision of were we are heading with our own online property and what you have signed on to help with.

You may also notice the new company blog and news pages, along with a great deal more information on our clients and services (although we are still working on much of the content). If you would like to edit any of your own company information on our pages you can do so via your company login or contacting us.

As well as the new look and feel, you  will notice we have stripped some of the usual content from the front page. We hope the new design makes it easier for our users to find the information they need as quickly as possible but if you have any trouble please do not hesitate to give us a call. Existing customers who need to login and manage their accounts should be able to find all the usual tools available however if you do find yourself lost and in a rush you can use the old site at http://old.freshdevs.com. Please note however we no longer support this old version and pages may well break as we migrate content to the new system.

The wider page allows us to present much more information than we could on the previous design and many of the new pages simply aren't possible on the old site.

As always, your feedback would be greatly appreciated!
